Grandma Sawyer is the deceased grandmother of the Sawyer family. She appears as a preserved corpse in The Texas Chain Saw Massacre and its sequel. it is unknown when she died.
Biography[]
Grandma Sawyer died long before the first film starts. The Sawyers keep her corpse in the attic of their farmhouse and leave Grandpa Sawyer there to sit next to her throughout the day before dinner.
The Texas Chain Saw Massacre[]
She is first seen briefly during Leatherface's chase scene, Sally approaches her seeking help but finds her dead body in a chair next to Grandpa Sawyer, who she believes is also deceased. She runs away and is later captured by Drayton Sawyer.
The Texas Chainsaw Massacre Part 2[]
After Sally escapes, the Sawyers pack up and move across the state with Grandma. They move into an abandoned theme park and make a shrine for Grandma Sawyer, calling it "Chainsaw Heaven".
She is mentioned later in the film by Drayton and the Family who pray at dinner to her. Vanita "Stretch" Brock is being kept against her will underground and is finally able to escape. She runs up a flight of stairs with Chop Top chasing her. She finds Grandma Sawyer at the top of Chainsaw Heaven. With Chop Top almost there, Stretch takes the chainsaw from Grandma Sawyer's corpse and breaks the skeleton. With Chop Top now realizing she is dead and thinking Stretch killed her, he attacks her but she pushes him down the hill into a fan blade. She screams and does the infamous chainsaw dance from the first film.
